1. Royal Gorge Bridge, Colorado

The jaw-dropping height of this bridge is enough to send shivers down any spine. At a whopping 969 feet above sea level, you don’t want to look down when standing on this.

2. Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Northern Island

At only 20 meters long you may be wondering how Carrick-a-Rede made it to the list, but don’t be deceived by its length. Spanning across two rocks, this rope bridge suspends over the water below. There are regular instances where visitors cross the shaky structure, and find themselves unable to cross back over, who then must be rescued by boat.

3. Mount Titlis, Switzerland

The highest suspension bridge in Europe. If you can stomach the sheer height of this monster, you can enjoy the spectacular views it offers across the Alps.

4. Kuandinsky Bridge, Russia 

Kuandinsky makes it to the list for a number of reasons. Firstly, it has been 30 years since any repairs have been completed, and it needs them! The crossing is also impossibly narrow, with no barrier between crossing vehicles and the icy waters below.


5. Mackinac Bridge, Michigan

Despite looking structurally sound, many people fear driving over this bridge. The fear is so strong in some, there are designated drivers placed on the bridge who will drive your car over it for you for a fee!
