The picturesque European city may have one of the smallest Christmas markets, but it is also one of the most historical and beautiful ones. Especially when the snow is placed on the alpine rooftops, in the old city of Salzburg, the landscape looks like it comes out of a fairy tale.

Cologne, Germany

The magical city of Cologne in Germany could not be missing from our list. It is known for its impressive cathedral, a Gothic masterpiece that dominates the city. It is considered one of the best Christmas markets in Germany, so it is a wonderful opportunity to get into the magical atmosphere of Christmas.

Grindelwald, Switzerland

Grindelwald is one of the most popular mountain resorts in Switzerland known for its stunning scenery of the surrounding mountains and a big variety of outdoor activities. Skiing is, undoubtedly, the main trodden of the village. But those who love hiking also find huge interest in the frozen lakes and waterfalls. The atmosphere here is magical through Christmas time. Take a hot wine and explore the crowded streets.

Bruges, Belgium

Europe's most well-preserved historic city, Bruges, is known for its rare beauty and looks exactly as you would imagine a medieval city. Many tourists visit Bruges all year round. But Christmas with the parade of snow, the festive bright lights and the interesting options it offers, it emerges as the ultimate winter destination.
