Harry Potter is coming to Oxford street for a very different kind of Christmas in 2026
London’s Oxford Street will add a wizarding touch to its Christmas celebrations this year, with Harry Potter-inspired illuminations joining the shopping destination’s familiar star lights.
HBO Max and New West End Company announced the collaboration on October 7. Alongside the new lighting designs, the partners are planning themed attractions and festive activities for visitors. The announcement has not yet revealed which characters, locations or magical objects will feature in the displays.
The celebrations coincide with two major franchise launches. Harry Potter Shop Oxford Street is scheduled to open on November 4, and the organizers describe it as the UK’s largest official Harry Potter flagship store. The festive partnership also marks the planned Christmas debut of HBO’s new television adaptation, beginning with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
For fans planning a visit, one key detail remains outstanding: the official announcement does not specify the Christmas lights’ switch-on date. Organizers say the full festive program, along with more details and images of the installations, will follow.
