Home Alone In Concert: A Festive Treat Coming To London This December

When the festive season rolls around, specific classics inevitably take over our screens — It’s A Wonderful Life, Elf, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and yes, Die Hard (depending on where you stand in that debate). But few Christmas films hold as much nostalgic magic as Home Alone. This December, Londoners will get to experience it like never before with the Home Alone in Concert series.

From December 6 to 13, the legendary Royal Albert Hall will host special screenings of Home Alone inside its magnificent auditorium. But this isn’t just your usual movie night — the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and Crouch End Festival Chorus will perform the film’s entire score live on stage.

The beloved story of young Kevin McCallister — accidentally left behind at Christmas and forced to defend his house from two hopeless burglars — will unfold with the thrilling accompaniment of a full orchestra. Composer John Williams’ unforgettable soundtrack will fill the venue, bringing new life to the film’s most heartwarming (and hilarious) moments.

It’s a fitting tribute, too. Home Alone earned two Academy Award® nominations for its music: Best Original Score and Best Original Song for “Somewhere in My Memory.” Although it ultimately lost to Dances with Wolves and Dick Tracy, the score remains one of the most beloved in film history.

Don’t worry — the film’s dialogue will still play throughout, with subtitles displayed on-screen, so every witty line and scream-worthy moment stays intact.

So, if you’re looking for a festive experience that blends cinema, music, and Christmas spirit, grab your tickets for Home Alone in Concert at the Royal Albert Hall this December. Just remember — double-check you’ve got everyone with you before you leave the house!
