JetBlue Adds New $75 Bag Fees On All U.S. Flights Effective Immediately

JetBlue passengers booking upcoming trips face higher luggage costs following the airline’s second baggage-fee increase this year. The revised prices apply to tickets purchased on or after November 3, 2026, with charges varying by travel date, route, and when you pay.

For travelers comparing fares, the change makes baggage an increasingly important part of the total trip budget.

First and second checked-bag prices

On flights within the United States and to Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean, JetBlue lists the following advance-payment rates for its Main and EvenMore fare families, subject to applicable baggage benefits and route exceptions:

Checked bag

First bag
$50

Second bag
$70

These rates apply when you add bags more than 24 hours before departure.

Waiting until the final 24 hours costs more. First-bag charges rise to $60 off-peak or $70 during peak periods, while second-bag charges reach $75 and $85, respectively. The previous advance-payment price for a first bag was $39 off-peak and $49 during peak periods.

Additional bags and transatlantic flights

A third or subsequent checked bag now costs $200 on these non-transatlantic routes, where additional bags are permitted.

Transatlantic pricing follows a separate schedule. For Main Base and EvenMore Base tickets, a prepaid first bag costs $80 off-peak or $90 during peak travel. A third or subsequent bag costs $200 off-peak and $210 during peak periods.

Why JetBlue is charging more

JetBlue says higher fuel and operating expenses prompted the adjustment. The airline describes baggage charges as a way to offset those costs while keeping base fares competitive. Elevated jet-fuel prices have added pressure to its operating budget.

Check your booking before paying.

Passengers who booked before November 3 should check Manage Trips for their applicable fees. Certain fares, Mosaic benefits and eligible JetBlue credit cards include checked baggage, so the published charges will not apply equally to every passenger.

Before purchasing a ticket, compare the airfare plus the luggage you expect to bring. That combined figure gives a clearer picture of what the journey will actually cost.
