After traveling to every country in the world, Drew Binsky has plenty of places to choose from when considering where to build a home. But the destination he named for his future with his wife is different from the country he considers his favorite.

In an interview with UNILAD, the Arizona-born travel creator revealed that he and his wife were planning to move to Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. He said they enjoyed the culture and were drawn to the city’s international significance.

His choice shows that a favorite holiday destination and a place to settle down do not necessarily have to be the same.

The Philippines Remains His Favorite

Asked which country stood out most across his travels, Binsky chose the Philippines without hesitation.

He praised its natural beauty and welcoming people, and said he felt safe there. For someone whose journeys have taken him around the globe, those qualities made a lasting impression.

Dubai, however, was the place he identified when discussing the next chapter of life with his wife.

A Global Journey With Difficult Moments

Reaching every country also brought complications, from entry requirements to uncomfortable encounters.

Binsky told UNILAD that securing a visa for Venezuela had been challenging as an American traveler. He attributed the difficulties to sanctions and political tensions between the two countries, although he eventually obtained a visa through the Venezuelan embassy shortly before his visit.

He also recalled a troubling taxi ride in Bulgaria. According to his account, the driver tampered with the meter and attempted to charge roughly ten times the expected fare.

While Binsky said some encounters in Eastern Europe felt unwelcoming, he also made clear that he enjoyed visiting those destinations. These were his personal experiences, rather than a description of what every visitor should expect.

A Home Base, With More Travel Ahead

Despite discussing plans to settle in Dubai, Binsky had no intention of leaving travel behind.

Having completed his goal of visiting every country, he still saw further adventures ahead. His plans suggested a new home base for the next stage of his life, while exploration would remain part of it.
