The largest mobile LEGO build in history just landed in Manhattan

Visitors to Midtown Manhattan this July can see a record-breaking attraction that combines football and creativity on an extraordinary scale.

To mark the countdown to the final stages of the FIFA World Cup 2026™, the LEGO Group joined forces with FIFA to unveil a spectacular replica of the FIFA World Cup Trophy™ at Rockefeller Plaza. Brazilian football legend Cafu, a two-time FIFA World Cup champion, officially introduced the installation.

A Record-Breaking LEGO Creation

Standing 8.47 meters (around 27 feet) tall, the trophy is officially the largest mobile LEGO structure ever built. The enormous model was created at the LEGO Group's Model Production facility in Kladno, Czech Republic, where a team of 59 designers, engineers, and builders spent eight months bringing the project to life.

The construction required more than 7,040 hours of work and an astonishing 1,363,402 LEGO bricks. The finished display weighs approximately 4.2 tonnes, while a 3.5-tonne internal steel frame provides the strength needed to support the massive structure. To simplify transportation and installation, the model was assembled in 16 separate sections before arriving in New York City.

Explore the LEGO FIFA Fan Zone

The giant trophy serves as the highlight of the LEGO Group's FIFA World Cup Fan Zone, which has transformed Rockefeller Plaza into an interactive destination for football supporters and LEGO enthusiasts alike.

Guests can take photos with the towering trophy, participate in hands-on building activities, design their own custom LEGO minifigures, and help create a collaborative brick mural inspired by the FIFA World Cup.

The event also marks the launch of the newest LEGO Editions collection. For the first time, some of football's biggest stars—including Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, and Vini Jr.—have been recreated as LEGO minifigures.
