The Trevi Fountain in Rome is one of the most famous in the world with millions of tourists visiting it every year. They throw coins over their shoulder into the fountain to ensure that they return someday. According to some information, officials have the fountain cleaned every night with about $ 15,000 per week and nearly $ 1 million annually collected through it. This amount of money goes to charities and to people in need.
There are also other famous fountains like the Fountains of Bellagio in Las Vegas, which is cleaned every few months with a giant vacuum,is estimated to earn about $ 12,000 a year. The fountains at the Mall of America make about $ 2,000 a month or $ 24,000 a year ,money that are given to charitable organizations. The strangest is the case of the 9/11 memorial fountain in which it is forbidden to throw a coin, but in 2014, however, $ 2,735 were found in it.
