Dubai’s resident population has surpassed 4.8 million, adding 226,885 people since the beginning of 2026, according to figures from the Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment, part of Digital Dubai.

The count stood at 4,807,185 by midday Monday, compared with 4,580,300 at the close of 2025. The latest total also represents an increase of 24,650 from the 4,782,535 residents recorded at the end of August.

The rise follows a year of substantial growth. Digital Dubai previously reported that the emirate added approximately 332,000 residents during 2025, bringing its population to around 4.58 million by year-end.

More households and a large working-age population

The increase in residents has been accompanied by growth in the number of households. Dubai recorded 858,000 households in 2025, up from 795,200 in 2024. That amounts to 62,800 additional households, a 7.9 percent annual increase.

The emirate’s demographic profile also highlights its sizeable working-age population. People aged 30 to 34 were the largest age group in 2025, representing 15.45 percent of all residents.

Men accounted for 68.5 percent of the population that year, or approximately 3.13 million people. Women made up the remaining 31.5 percent, or around 1.44 million.

Daily arrivals add to Dubai’s daytime activity.

Beyond its resident population, Dubai received approximately 1.81 million people traveling into the emirate each day during daytime hours in 2025. This figure illustrates the scale of daily movement into the city, separate from the number of people who live there.

The official resident count includes people who normally live in Dubai for at least six months, as well as those who intend to stay for that period.

Digital Dubai says its population figures draw on administrative records, smart systems and real-time data, with the count updated continuously.
