Travelers planning a November visit to Naples should check their flight arrangements as Capodichino Airport prepares to suspend operations for runway refurbishment.

The airport will be closed from 1 to 30 November 2026, according to operator GESAC. The closure therefore includes the final day of the month, rather than reopening on 30 November.

The €30 million investment will fund extensive runway works as part of the airport’s scheduled maintenance program. GESAC says the project supports operational safety and compliance with aviation industry requirements.

Some services will move to Salerno.

Salerno Costa d’Amalfi e del Cilento Airport will handle part of the displaced traffic during November, with connections to 15 domestic and international destinations.

The published schedule includes Ryanair services to Bergamo and easyJet flights to Milan Malpensa. International destinations include Amsterdam, Barcelona, Madrid and Paris. However, the announcement does not mean every Naples route will operate from Salerno. Travelers should confirm their departure airport and flight status directly with their airline before arranging onward transport.

Getting between Naples and Salerno Airport

A special bus service will connect Naples Piazza Garibaldi with Salerno Airport during the closure. GESAC and Busitalia Campania have announced eight departures in each direction daily, timed around flight schedules.

Tickets cost €12 each way and can be purchased on board using electronic payment. Bus connections between Salerno railway station and the airport will also run more frequently, offering another option for passengers traveling by train.

Before booking a November trip, check which airport your flight actually serves and allow enough time for the additional ground journey. Anyone with an existing Naples booking should review airline notifications for itinerary changes.

With Capodichino unavailable throughout November, confirming both the flight and the airport transfer will be essential to keeping travel plans on track.
